Godly Alternatives - Destiny

                      (God is not an option, He gives the options and man chooses.)

There are only two destinies - to become a child of God, walking in righteousness or to remain a servant of the devil, walking in evil and sin.

Now I've heard many things in the past concerning destiny and how to get there. Many preachers preach and say: if you want to attain your God-given destiny, something in the line of your profession, a life career or a calling, e.g. a lawyer, a doctor, an engineer, a pilot, a pastor, a rich business man, etc then you must abstain from premarital sex or simply put, fornication. 

This is my own line of thought: Having premarital sex doesn't stop you from becoming a lawyer or a doctor or anything we refer to as becoming somebody in life. No, not so. There are many people out there who engage in all those things and more, yet they succeed and do better than even people who abstain from such sins. My point is this - you don't abstain from sex and engage in other seemingly petty but equally grievous sins like lying, cheating, watching pornography, disobedience etc simply because you want to achieve your destiny. No, those who do not go through the same precautions achieve their destiny as you call it but they are not at peace with God. 

The only reason why we must and should abstain from sins in general, whether we count them as serious or simple is because it dishonours God and does not give glory to Him. Sin hinders us from getting to our glorious destiny,  which is this - to know God and to love Him and Jesus Christ His son and to become one in spirit, heart, mind and body with Him. This is our only glorious destiny. The other destiny is suffering, shame and eternal separation from God in hell forever. 

Because we are of God's seed, created in the image and likeness of the eternal God, there is more to our life hereafter than at the present and prominent now. Your place in eternity is your destiny - Heaven or Hell, not becoming a professional or a pastor or an engineer or anything of such likes, desires or interests. 

Serve God and live. This is the only destiny that God our creator has given us and has commanded us to follow after and pursue with all our life, existence and essence. The others are derivatives or by-products gotten from the main thing. God bless you. Amen
