Godly Alternatives - Godliness

The end justifies the means - Not so with God. For God is just and the means must be just as required by God in his sight. 

There is always a way that seems right in the sight of men but with God there is only one right way. And that way is God's way, it is known as the way of righteousness. The way of godliness is the way of peace. Although it is not a common or popular way, it is still the right way. It is the only way. It is the only way that brings true and lasting peace, joy and lasting life. 

This way is not popular because of our likes, interests and sinful desires. This way is not seemingly pleasant and attractive because our eyes, our understanding and our society has not presented it in the proper way. This way of godliness is sweet, it's wonderful, it's acceptable and it pays in the long run. Most times, when this way is presented, it is presented with the mind to discourage and hinder us from tasting what it actually looks like in reality. 

When carnal people and those who do not properly understand present it, they mostly talk about its hardships, its boundaries, its tendency to take away our so called freedom, enjoyment and self-satisfaction. They talk about its limitations, sacrifices, confinements, carefulness, control, poverty, lacks, disappointments, endurance, its shame etc. They rarely talk about the true peace and joy, fellowship and love that it supplies. Its comfort and confidence in times of trouble, anxiety and fear, its contentment, its truths that sets free and brings true liberty.

You see, God created us and gave us this life that we live. He also provided the blessings, the gifts and the abundance that makes us happy. He gave sex and the joys and pleasures of sex, He also gave food and the satisfaction and pleasure that we derive from it.

But much more important than these, He gave us Himself and His laws to guide us and to control us. We are first of all spirits before we are flesh. The spirit man is the highest and most important. It is much more important than the life we live in the body and in the flesh - the food we eat, the house we live in, our clothing and shelter, making money and living a comfortable life according to our self-defined standard. 

Godliness is a life of the spirit that manifests itself in the flesh. It is the life of God manifested in man - both male and female. There is no self-made man. Every man was made and created by God and in the image and likeness of God. Thus godliness declares to us that it is sin to live and define life by yourself - your standards, your outlook, your perceptions, your interests and desires, your feelings, your idea of bad and good, etc. 

All of these, according to godliness, which is the divinely given and acceptable standard must be designed, given and done according to God's dictates, God's standards and most importantly God's word. Are you then willing and ready to pursue godliness in your life with all of your heart? Judge
