Deputy Senate President, Presents A Bus and HP Computers To The Faculty Of Management Sciences Of Ebonyi State University
Enugu Deputy Senate President, Chief Ike Ekweremadu, has presented a brand new 18-seater Hiace bus and ten HP Desktop
computers to the Faculty of Management
Sciences, Ebonyi State University (EBSU), Abakiliki.
He presented the donation
to the faculty at his residence in fulfilment of his promises during the 4th -
6th convocation ceremony of EBSU.
Ekweremadu commended the
management and staff of the University for Advancement of knowledge and
academic excellence in the state.
The Senator representing
Enugu West pressed Nigerian universities to continue to promote academic
excellence.
He urged the school
management to provide equal opportunities to all students in the use of the
items and expressed hope that the computers would help to upgrade the research
capacity of the institution.
Ekweremadu also explained
that 10 sets of computers as well as N2 million were presented by the Enugu State Governor-elect, Ifeanyi
Ugwuanyi, as part of his own contribution to support EBSU.
The items were handed
over to the university by Ekweremadu's wife, Nwanneka, on-behalf of her husband
and the Governor-elect.
Receiving the items
on-behalf of the university, the Dean,
Faculty of Management Sciences, Ebonyi State University, Professor Sunday Nwite,
described the gesture as a massive support for research and academic activities
of the institution.
Nwite described
Ekweremadu as a blessing to the entire people of Ebonyi State, South East
Nigeria and West Africa at large.
Nwite said the gifts were
the first of its kind since the inception of the university and called on other
well-meaning Nigerians to emulate the Senator and Ugwuanyi.
Present at the occasion
were Speaker of the Enugu State House of
Assembly, Eugene Odo, House Leader, Sunday Udokoye, and Chairman, Awgu Local
Government area, Nnanna Nze, among others.
