No Cultism, No Nudity - Auchi Poly
The Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State, has warned its students to shun improper dressing, cultism, examination malpractice and other social vices.
During his speech on Friday at the 32nd matriculation ceremony of the institutions for the 2014/2015 session, the Rector, Dr. Philipa Idogho urged the 12,000 newly admitted students to resist temptations from people of questionable character.
She said the institution has put measures in place to check vices among its students, harping on cultism which has become a problem across all levels of education in the country.
"The management of the polytechnic frowns at membership of cult groups," the Rector said.
She asked the students to remain focused on their academics and promised that the management would do all possible to make their learning environment conducive.
"I urged you to take full advantage of this privilege of admission by working studiously to attain your goals and ambition in this institution," Idogho said. “On our part, we will do all we need to do to make you men and women of character.
