JAMB 2017 - 14 Things You Need to Know
1. About 2 million candidates are expected to register for the exam this year.
2. Examination centers will have halls containing at least 250 fully operational computers, with 25 as backup.
3. Because of space, every prospective candidate is required to register early as soon as registration begins.
4. JAMB will conclude examination in all centres within 7 days.
5. All JAMB approved centres are equipped with CCTV cameras to track any form of exam malpractice.
6. JAMB will conduct Mock UTME for first time candidates to get a familiar feel of the examination.
7. Mock UTME may be one of the reasons for the delay in the sales of JAMB forms for this year.
8. If the government enforces the bill passed into law on October 13, 2016, then the results candidates get feom this year's exam will remain valid for 3 years.
9. JAMB has agreed with other examination bodies to shift the exam date forward to allow students write thier WAEC, NECO and NABTEB exams.
10. For students with awaiting results - The verdict is this: They can register for UTME but their results must be ready and uploaded on the JAMB and the intending institution's website before admission.
11. Sale of UTME forms: Before the end of this week, adverts will be published.
12. English is no longer optional for some students. It is a must for all.
13. The biometric data for each candidate must be properly captured, that is all 10 fingers and students must create a JAMB personal profile on JAMB's website.
14. There will be no sale of scratch cards for registration.
