Godly Alternatives - Last Days Deception

Whether they want it or not, the Lord always sends watchmen to warn his people. The  gospel of accommodation - to make suitable, pleasing, convenient, appease and attract sinners is the gospel being preached around in these end times.

It is a non-confronting, convenient gospel applicable to the rich, celebrities and the famous. It is mostly full of humorous skits, jokes, laughter and short drama. This new gospel is being propagated by young, talented ministers of the gospel. It works upon a formula - this one, they go around  asking people why they don't go to church, what makes the church offensive to them. What would we have to do to bring you back into the church. What would make you comfortable. They survey the community and design a program that will make the church comfortable for the sinner and attract men into the house of God.

This gospel has been cleverly packaged. It sounds good, it sound spiritual and it sounds like Jesus but it does not preach the true Jesus. It is preached by ministers who have lost the touch of God. Paul warned of these new gospel:

If any one preach anything other than the crucified Christ, let them be accursed. Satan is going to infiltrate the church like an angel of light with his false agents and ministers. They will glory in the flesh, numbers, money, worldly acceptance and their intelligence

Beware of false prophets which devour. They are going to change the gospel to quick recognition, ambition and gratification. Young boys so ambitious to become one of the big boys, to have the biggest church, the biggest numbers, the biggest crowds. They are ravening wolves.

There is going to be competition for numbers and not many people want to hear the cross. Narrow is the way Jesus says.

Menof God watch out. Be not seduced with ungodly ambition. It is not wrong to pray for growth but if it is to feed a human ambition, it turns a man into a devil. There is no right formula, don't seek one. The only formula is Jesus. Some young men have come up with a formula on how to build a church, it contradicts the gospel and the bible.

The Holy Ghost works without planning, no strategizing, no networking. Learn from the apostles,  they prayed, fasted and waited on the Lord until the Holy Ghost says something and gives direction.

The Apostle Paul

Paul had lived all his life being religious. He'd seen and heard teachings that accommodate the weakness and the sinfulness of the backslidden Jews. But he said one day Jesus came and revealed Himself in me and he cast away all these religious fads, formulas as dung. He fully preached the gospel in power and in the demonstration of the Holy Ghost. Multitude don't even know what the gospel is because they have not even heard it.

Paul boasted: We preach Christ crucified. He said I am fully determined to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. If the gospel is not preached in power and in the demonstration of the Holy Ghost then sadly, it is not the gospel. There is no formula for preaching the gospel. The only qualification to preach the gospel is the Holy Ghost.

Paul was saying the Jews and the Greeks are trying to make us accommodate our message now. The Jews wanted us to give them signs and the Greeks wanted wisdom. They want miracles at the other side and on this side they want wisdom. The word of God does not satisfy our lusts or longings but our godly desires alone.

I might lust after the gift of the Holy Ghost for personal profit or I might be seeking after it with a godly desire, the position of heart determines your answer.

Do not accommodate. Let them call our preaching foolishness. Let them say it is out of date. It is not contemporary, it is nothing determined among men, it is of Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

The other gospel accommodated the sinners in many ways

1. It accommodated man's love for pleasure - This is all sold to us in the last days. For in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of themselves, lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God.

The Greek word for pleasure is sensuality, lust, voluptuousness, in other words exciting, gratifying sensual pleasures. They are going to love their sport, their X-rated movies, their videos games, their computer sex, they are going to love these sensual things.

2. The Accommodation of Modern Man's Aversion to Self-Denial

God demands more than coming to the cross. He demands going through the cross. That's the offence, that it takes everything a man has and owns and trust Him. The sinners is most willing to come to the cross and kneel before the Lord. He/She is wiling to stake the claims by a single confession of faith, saying: Yes Lord, I believe. The sinner must be willing to enter the grave of Christ to die and come out resurrected with Christ in newness of life. 

For the modern preachers, there is no word about true repentance. All they say is come to Christ and be forgiven. There is no word about continuing in Christ. There is no word on dying to sin, there is no resurrection with Christ in newness of life. To them, it is by faith and your sins are forgiven but the sinner still remains in their sins...

The cross of Christ demands full obedience. It demands everything we have. We have another gospel now that tells men what the cross did for them but not what the cross demands from them and what it wants to take them through.

It is not only the saving of the soul but also the saving of the body. Jesus demands: I want your flesh, I want your body as a living sacrifice. That's the offence of the cross.

If the preaching of grace doesn't have in its goal righteousness, it's another gospel.  For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;  (Titus 2:11,12)

For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. (2 Cor 7:10)

For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin. (Psalm 38:18)

Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better. (Eccl 7:3)

Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing. (2 Cor 7:9)

Now hear Jesus:

As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him(Jesus) shall not be ashamed. (Romans 9:33). This rock of offence is Jesus Christ. If the true gospel still offends you, then you have a problem with God and His son Jesus Christ. Don't fake it, be real. Check your heart and your motives... the warning signs and alarm bells are there. If you find anything that offends you, go to the cross. Jesus is waiting.

Correction, does it offend you?

Humility, do you hate it with a passion?

Love, do you really have true love for others?

Compassion, is it in your heart?

Kindness, do you think about it?

Mercy, do you give it?

Loving Jesus and embracing the cross, does this sound appealing to you. Do you feel the need to run after the Saviour Jesus Christ and do His will?

Hating the world with its customs, culture and constitution, do you really believe this truth and are willing to obey this demand?

Fashion, does it mesmerize you or do you abhor it?

Lust, what are the things you lust after in your heart and you know they are ungodly?

Talking about Jesus, evangelism, does it bother you?

Righteousness, is it all that you really desire and pursue or it is only from your lips?

Obedience, do you treasure it?

Awake, awake... awake from the dead(the death of sin) and Christ Jesus shall give thee light. (Ephesians 5:14)
