WISDOM IS BETTER THAN STRENGTH
The book of Eccl 9:16 made it clear to us that wisdom is better than strength. To establish this fact I would love to make reference to the story of David and Goliath (1 Samuel 17), the main reason why David was able to conquer Goliath was because David had the fear of God which is the beginning of wisdom. Goliath undoubtedly was a strong man i.e. he had physical strength but IT TAKES MORE THAN PHYSICAL STRENGTH TO CONQUER IN LIFE, despite the fact that he had physical strength he still failed because he lacked the fear of God which is the beginning of wisdom; he directed his strength to a wrong course.
When you have the wisdom of God it makes you know what to use your strength on. Eccl 10:10 says "Wisdom is profitable to direct", the presence of wisdom (God) in your life will give meaning to your strength, and we all know that God is the source of wisdom.
There is a popular saying that "When the purpose of a thing is unknown, abuse is inevitable". Adding the wisdom of God to your strength will make you know why God actually gave you the strength and what that strength should be used for. Maybe your own strength is talking i.e. you enjoy talking a lot, without the wisdom of God you can end up talking about irrelevant things thereby abusing your strength and just gossip away your life but when the wisdom of God comes upon you, it will give meaning to your strength (let's say talking) and make you know that you can become a great Evangelist i.e. spending your life proclaiming the good news of Christ. The wisdom of God directed David to the right approach he needed to overcome the strength of goliath and at the end "THE STRENGTH OF GOLIATH WAS DISGRACED IN THE PRESENCE OF THE WISDOM OF GOD".
Let me conclude by re-affirming to you that "WISDOM IS THE PRINCIPAL THING" but you cannot get God kind of wisdom except you have a relationship with the source of that wisdom i.e. GET GOD AND HIS WISDOM WILL FOLLOW YOU. Get God and He would make something beautiful out of your strength, Get God and your life will know no shame, Get God and you will always appear bigger than you really are because anything you do will surely become "God at work featuring YOU i.e. people will begin to see God in whatever you do". Get God and experience PEACE. The day you get God is the day you actually start LIVING (not just existing).
