Godly Alternatives - Morality

Thou shall have no other gods before me.

Thou shall not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: 

Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them.

Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain.

Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

Thou shalt not kill.

Thou shalt not commit adultery. 

Thou shalt not steal.

Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. 

Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, his wife, ... nor any thing that is thy neighbour's. 

We live in a morally decadent world. Judgment is turned away backward, and justice stands afar off: truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter. Men and women are sinful, profligate and licentious, evil and full of lust. We know what is right, we want what is right but we cannot do that which is right. Something must be wrong somewhere. What went wrong?

No one really can discern the truth indeed apart from the truth itself. And if you have been following this series carefully, I have made it clear that TRUTH is a person and that person is JESUS CHRIST. How do we know? He declared it himself when he said: I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE. He is the way, the right way to follow. He is the truth, the only eternal truth. He is who he claims to be. Finally, He is the life, He is life and He gives life to anyone who desires it. 

Jesus Christ came to show us the way to the Father, who created us in His image and likeness. The purpose of creation was for man to reflect the image, likeness and the glory of God by living exactly like Him. Everything changed when man sinned.

God is holy, man must be holy. God is clean, man must be clean. God alone is to be worshiped, man then must worship God alone, not himself or another god. Inside every living human is a conscience. The conscience is a moral agent that governs right and wrong. It tells us inwardly whether our actions are right or wrong. It judges our motives and intentions.

In the first paragraph, I asked: What went wrong? The answer is this: SIN. Sin brought all the moral and spiritual corruption of man. The moment man sinned, everything changed. The subject of SIN is the most discussed subject in the world, even though the word SIN is not used. SIN brought all the problems, challenges and evils we are currently experiencing in our society. SIN is the cause, the root cause, yet no one wants to talk about it because it brings man into condemnation before an holy God. Man has a knack for beating around the bush while leaving the main thing untouched. Man in his human, limited efforts has deciphered ways of solving some of the outcome of SIN like disease, corruption, stealing, etc by inventing drugs, fighting corruption, building prison wards, motherless babies home etc. 

The modern world is even crazier. Nobody wants to believe or be bound by absolutes any longer. Everyone wants freedom to vomit the corruption and foolishness inside their heart and mind. Entertainment is no longer innocent. It smells with sex, nudity and all kinds of SIN. There is no longer caution. Everything has been defiled and they say we should keep quiet and not talk about it. The children are no longer sane. What they think most about is sexual relationships - boyfriend, girlfriend. Their minds have been twisted and they can no longer think straight. Every new day, man thinks of new ways to defy God in disobedience and arrogance against his word. They mock God with their words and their lifestyle.

Are you like that or you are already thinking that they are right? Never! That is not true. The truth is everyone of them will be brought into judgement before an holy God and their final end will be Hell Fire. I pray you will not mock this warning but turn around in repentance unto God.
