“It's 10 days since we started,” Nicolas Pompigne-Mognard, founder and chief executive officer of APO, told University World News last Wednesday.

“African related news will be distributed to students across the world. Our content will be made alive through this alliance,” he summed.

NewsBank boasts of 40 years in supporting the research needs of public libraries, colleges and universities, government libraries, non-governmental organisations and experts around the world.

The organisation collects current and archived information from thousands of newspaper titles, newswires, blogs, videos, broadcast transcripts, business journals, periodicals, government documents and other publications.

APO, based at its headquarters in Dakar, Senegal, runs the news wire service for press release distribution and monitoring in Africa.

The releases are related to entrepreneurial and listed companies, government ministries, political and economic institutions and NGOs, focusing on the continent's social, economic, political and legal affairs.

Chuck Palsho, chief content officer at NewsBank, said in a statement that millions of students and library patrons around the world will be able to use the content for studies of African nations, global policies and finance, and more.

“We are looking forward to partnering with APO,” he said.

Tim Russell, NewsBank’s Vice-President of International markets, said they would provide customers the benefit of APO’s content in support of the growing global research in Africa.
