UI Expels 78 Students
The authority of the University of Ibadan has expelled 78 students for their failure to obtain the minimum academic requirements for the 2012/2013 session.
The institution’s registrar, Olujimi Olukoya, said in Ibadan on Tuesday that the Senate of the University had approved the withdrawal of the affected students.
The expelled students were at various levels, from 100 to 400 levels and came from 13 faculties within the institution.
A breakdown of the withdrawn students indicated that 6 of them gained admission into the university via the Direct Entry mode, 66 through University Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) while 6 entered the university through UME.
The institution has also vowed to uphold the highest standards in global scholarship.
