ASUU Strike: Union Continues Strike in UNIPORT
University of Port Harcourt, UNIPORT chapter of ASUU rose from a meeting at the ‘Abuja’ campus of the University, yesterday, with a resolution to continue the strike.
The University campus looked deserted when Vanguard went round.
Chairperson of the union, Prof. Antonia Okerengwo, who spoke with Vanguard, said the strike would continue
“We sang our solidarity song today at our congress. The hall was full. Lecturers were at the meeting,” she said.
Some students who spoke with our reporter, said they were around to see if the lecturers were ready for them.
They said they were resident in Port Harcourt. “We just came around to see if things had taken shape in the school. Some of us live in Port Harcourt, so we will be going back today.
Our friends in other states will depend on us for information on resumption,” they said.
