God is Holy. The holiness of God is His nature. God doesn't play with holiness because that is who He is and everyone who comes to God must realize this in their heart and spirit. He created man in holiness, in His likeness. Man was created pure, undefiled and perfect.

Holiness is what distinguishes God from all other gods there may be. God delights in holiness and demands holiness from all men, who are created in His image.

Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?  (Exodus 15:11)

What is Holiness?

In the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is no death. Proverbs 12:28

A righteous man hateth lying: but a wicked man is loathsome, and cometh to shame. Proverbs 13:5

The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour: but the way of the wicked seduceth them. Proverbs 12:26

He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit. Proverbs 12:17

A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel. Proverbs 12:10

Righteousness keepeth him that is upright in the way: but wickedness overthroweth the sinner. Proverbs 13:6

The light of the righteous rejoiceth: but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out. Proverbs 13:9

Evil pursueth sinners: but to the righteous good shall be repayed. Proverbs 13:21

The righteous eateth to the satisfying of his soul: but the belly of the wicked shall want. Proverbs 13:25

For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.  1 Thessalonians 4:7

Holiness is obedience to the word of God

Holiness is refusing continuously to do that which God considers evil or an abomination

Holiness is lifting up holy hands and praising God

Holiness is having faith in God and Him alone

Holiness is standing for the truth wherever we find ourselves, even if we are the only person standing for the truth and everybody else decides to go the other way.

Holiness begins by surrendering our hearts, mind, will, body, soul and spirit to the Lord Jesus Christ, by confessing openly to Him our sins and asking sincerely and heartily for His forgiveness and redemption from all of our sins, by believing that only He can change and transform our hearts to be like Him in holiness and all purity.
