Warning Against Sending Nigerian College Students Abroad To Study

A Hungarian don, Attila Jenei, had advised Nigerian parents against the habit of sending their wards to foreign universities at a tender age.

Jenei, an Associate Professor at the Department of Biophysics and Cell Biology, Debrecen University, Hungary, gave the advice during a visit to a  to GEC Academy International, a Nigerian 6th Form College, in late April.

He said parents should instead enroll their wards for A’ Level or foundation programmes in the country rather than send them overseas at a very tender age.

He said the programmes will allow the students to come of age and give them the needed background to face the academic challenges when they eventually go abroad.

Jenei also commended Nigerian students studying at the Debrecen University for their academic and moral excellence.
